A Former Marine Battling Cancer Got Tickets to the Super Bowl

27-year-old Reagan Odhner is a former Marine from Pennsylvania, who enlisted right after high school in 2009.   She did two tours in Afghanistan working on helicopters, then enrolled at Stanford two days after leavings the Marines.

But right around the same time, she was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma.  Luckily it’s in remission now, and she’s set to graduate in 2017 with a degree in economics.   She also got a scholarship from the Pat Tillman Foundation last year.  Tillman is the former football player who died in Afghanistan in 2004, after he quit the NFL to join the Army.

And she’s been having a pretty good week, she celebrated her 27th birthday on Wednesday, and got to kick field goals and meet players at a pre-Super Bowl event in San Francisco yesterday.

Then she was also on “Good Morning America”, where Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri surprised her on live TV with two free tickets to the Super Bowl.
