A crew member on the hit STARZ series Power was killed Monday morning, shutting down production on Season 6 of the drama. Longtime production assistant Pedro Jimenez was fatally struck by an SUV at about 4:30 a.m. EST while setting up parking cones for a Brooklyn location shoot. STARZ confirmed the news with a statement. Jimenez, who was with the series since its first day of production, was 63 years old. The series has temporarily shut down production out of respect for Jimenez’s family, who was informed of his passing almost immediately.
NYPD officials are investigating the incident, with reports stating that the driver of the 2006 Ford Explorer that hit Jimenez was also a member of the Power crew. No cast members were on set during the incident, and there is no word on when production would continue.
