Mark Salling’s arrest for possession of child pornography on Tuesday, December 29, could cost him his latest role. Adi Shankar, director of Gods and Secrets, says that if the 33-year-old Glee alum is convicted, he’ll cut the actor from the 2016 film.

“Today I was made aware of the serious allegations against Salling as a result of numerous media outlets hounding me as to whether he would remain in Gods and Secrets. I won’t feed our growing pitchfork culture. I’m going to wait for all the facts to arrive and if in fact these allegations are true, I will immediately take action, which includes removing his scenes from the project,” Shankar tells Us in a statement on Wednesday, December 30.

As previously reported, Salling was booked at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles after the Internet Crimes Against Children LAPD task force obtained a warrant and searched his Sunland, California, home, law enforcement confirmed to Us Weekly. According to TMZ, the task force found more than a thousand images.
Salling, who was held on $20,000 bail, was released after family members posted bail on Tuesday afternoon.

According to IMDB, Gods and Secrets explores the darker ramifications of a world filled with superheroes — for the people they protect and the famous heroes themselves. Salling plays a villain in the film.
