There’s nothing like enjoying an evening outside, listening to crickets chirping, a campfire crackling, soft breezes through the trees, and those delightful “bloody murder screams.”
Universal Studios Hollywood is currently testing a new roller coaster called the “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift.” It hits 72 miles per hour, and it has hills and loops, along with a feature where the coaster’s cars twist, like a “drift.”
But some neighbors are already freaking out, because it’s too loud, including “bloody murder screams” from the riders. One person complained that it sounds like “someone is getting murdered out there.” Another said it’s like, “a horror film going on.” And described it as, “Disturbing.”
Universal says they’re listening, and “actively monitoring sound levels.” For starters, they are adding “two additional sound barriers,” as well as making other adjustments to dampen the noise. (Here’s a breakdown of their efforts.)
If this ride sounds BLOODY AWESOME to you, it’s still in the soft open / “technical rehearsal” phase. There’s no official opening date yet.
