On Wednesday, Discovery announced that Chip and Joanna Gaines will soon be getting their own cable TV channel as part of the launch of a new multi-platform media company led by the pair. The still unnamed network will debut in summer 2020 and take over the space currently occupied by the DIY Network, which reaches 52 million US homes, Discovery said. A new subscription streaming service is also in the plans.
AMC has announced it is green-lighting a third scripted series set in the world of The Walking Dead. According to the network, the series “will feature two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.”

On Tuesday, actress Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli, along with 14 other parents, were hit with a new money laundering charge, this in the wake of the college admissions bribery scheme. The new charges come a day after actress Felicity Huffman and 12 other parents and a coach agreed to plead guilty. An indictment brought Tuesday adds a charge of money laundering conspiracy against the couple and 14 other parents.
Sara Gilbert announced on Tuesday’s episode of The Talk that she is leaving to focus on her career as an actress and producer. Gilbert cried as she revealed her departure, with co-hosts Eve, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Carrie Ann Inaba tearing up as well.
