Chris Janson just debuted his new video for “It Is Christmas,” his first-ever Christmas song.  In the video, Janson is shown at his white piano, singing about the ordinary charms of Christmas day—all the things we take for granted. Janson told CMT that he’s been urged to do a Christmas song in the past, but he resisted until one day he said “I had a random idea to write a Christmas song in like July, and that’s what we did. I wrote this song probably three years ago with my co-writers and we just never thought it would see the light of day.”  Check out Janson’s video for “It Is Christmas” in the link below. 

Dolly Parton is being honored as “2019 MusiCares Person of the Year,” following in the footsteps of past honorees such as Paul McCartney, Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Tom Petty and more. MusiCares is the charitable arm of the Recording Academy and provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need, including financial, medical and personal emergencies.

Real-life couple Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton dropped a new video for “You Make It Feel Like Christmas,” the title track to Gwen’s 2017 holiday album. The holiday tune was co-penned by Blake, Gwen, Justin Tranter and busbee, also features vocals from Shelton. CMT will air the 2018 AmericanaFest TV special on Dec. 6 at 9 p.m. ET with performances by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, John Prine, k.d. lang, Margo Price, Rosanne Cash and many more artists.

Thomas Rhett announced his Very Hot Summer Tour will hit the road in 2019. The 39-date tour will kick off on May 17 in Spokane, Washington, making stops in Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Nashville and more. Dustin Lynch, Russell Dickerson and Rhett’s father, Rhett Akins, will serve as support.
