The 2018 CMA Awards aired live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Wednesday night, hosted for the 11th year by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. The evening opened with Garth Brooks dedicating the show to the 12 victims of the shootings in Thousand Oaks, California.
Chris Young scored the 11th No. 1 single of his career earlier this week with “Hangin’ On,” the second single from Chris’ 2017 album, Losing Sleep, to hit No. 1. Now Young has treated his fans via Twitter to a sample of a new tune, “Raised On Country,” that name-drops some of his country heroes, including George Strait and Willie Nelson. Said Chris in a Twitter post: “What’s up guys, I’ve been hanging out in the studio. I’ve been talking a lot about new music. Walker Hayes will be touring in 2019 for his headlining “Dream On It” Tour, which was names after a fan-driven contest on social media. The “Dream On It” tour will kick off in Houston, Texas on Jan. 31, and the 27-date trek will make additional stops in Nashville, Atlanta, Boston, Denver, Seattle and more.
