New in Theaters: “Batman v Superman” and “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2”

1.  Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice  (PG-13)  Trailer 1, Trailer 2, Trailer 3

Ben Affleck plays an older version of Batman, who decides Superman is too much of a threat after his “Man of Steel” battle with Zod caused so much devastation and claimed the lives of many of his Wayne Enterprises employees.

Henry Cavill is still your Superman.  And both Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne are back as Lois Lane and Perry White.

The main villain in this is Jesse Eisenberg, as a nerdy version of Lex Luthor who’s creating a Kryptonian monster called Doomsday from the corpse of General Zod.

The movie focuses on the main three heroes of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, who’s played by Israeli “Fast and the Furious” minx Gal Gadot.  But we’ll also see Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, and a guy named Ray Fisher as Cyborg, all of whom are getting their own movie after next year’s “Justice League”.

Fans of “The Walking Dead” will also want to keep an eye out for Lauren Cohan as Bruce Wayne’s mom in the obligatory scene about the death of his parents.

(Henry Cavill posted two amusing videos to his Instagram this week.  The first is from when no one recognized him in Times Square.  And in the second, he’s sneaking up to put an “I Heart Superman” bumper sticker on the Batmobile.)

2.  My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2  (PG-13)  Trailer

Nia Vardalos and John Corbett return for the sequel.  In this one, they have a teenage daughter leaving for college.  Nia’s parents also find out they aren’t legally married because the priest forgot to sign their license, so there’s a big fat Greek wedding to fix that mistake.
