Five Random Facts for Friday

Here are some random facts for you.

1.  Canada, New Zealand, and Australia have removed their 1-cent pieces from circulation.  And maybe the U.S. should, too.  A penny costs about three times its value to make.

2.  Human beings have explored less than 5% of the world’s ocean floors.

3.  In the second presidential election, both parties picked George Washington as their nominee.  He won the election with 100% of the vote.

4.  There was a Saturday morning cartoon in 1977 and 1978 called “The Robonic Stooges”, which featured the Three Stooges characters as bionic future crime fighters.

5.  The John Denver song “Take Me Home, Country Roads” was written about Maryland, but the writers changed the lyrics to West Virginia since they thought that sounded more poetic.
