Five Random Facts for Friday

Here are some random facts for you.

1.  Growing up, Katy Perry wasn’t allowed to eat Lucky Charms cereal because luck was “linked to the devil.”  Her family also called deviled eggs, “angeled eggs.”

2.  The editor of the “New York Times” crossword puzzle is Will Shortz, and he’s the only person in the world with a degree in enigmatology, that’s the study of puzzles.  He created the major himself at Indiana University.

3.  When Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points in an NBA game in 1962, he made 28 free throws.  And it was during a period in his career when he was shooting them underhanded, or “granny style.”

He made 28-of-32 free throws, which is 87.5%.  It’s also tied for the most free throws ever made during a single game in NBA history.

4.  There are only a few countries in the world where the drinking age is as old as 21, including the U.S.  The most common legal drinking age is 18.

5.  There are only a handful of mammals that are venomous, including shrews, platypuses, moles, and vampire bats.
