Five Random Facts for Monday

Here are some random facts for you.

1.  The modern iteration of Sudoku was only invented in 1979.  It was called “Number Place,” and was invented by an American architect named Howard Garns.  The reason we know it as Sudoku is because it became a mainstream sensation in Japan first, before taking over the rest of the world 20 years ago.

2.  Only two of the #1 NFL draft picks from the past 20 years have won a Super Bowl.  Matthew Stafford with the L.A. Rams in 2022, and Eric Fisher with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020.

3.  Approximately 2% of people have a gene that makes it so their armpits don’t smell, even without deodorant.

4.  The first speeding ticket was given out in 1899 in Manhattan, to a cab driver who was going a blazing 12 miles-per-hour in an eight-mile-an-hour zone.

5.  Ad time for the series finale of “M*A*S*H” in 1983 cost more than ad time for the Super Bowl that year.
