1. “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” (PG-13) Trailer
This is the third attempt at bringing the Fantastic Four to the big screen. First there was 2005’s “Fantastic Four” and its 2007 sequel, both starring Chris Evans as the Human Torch and a blonde Jessica Alba as his sister.
The 2015 reboot starred Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch and Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic.
And now there’s this one, which is the first to be considered officially part of the MCU.
On a 1960s-inspired parallel Earth, the Fantastic Four have to protect the planet from the world-devouring cosmic being Galactus and his herald, the Silver Surfer, whos’ played in this one by Julia Garner. You might know her from “Ozark”.
Pedro Pascal is Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby is the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn from “Stranger Things” is her brother, Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is Ben Grimm (The Thing).
Robert Downey Jr. is expected to appear as Victor Von Doom in a post-credits scene, despite the director saying Doctor Doom is not part of his film.
2. “House of Eden” (R) Trailer
A horror movie about three paranormal investigators who film their encounter with an ancient malevolent spirit in an abandoned house deep in the woods. It’s written, directed by, and stars Kris Collins. The other two investigators are the relatively unknown actors Celina Myers and Jason-Christopher Mayer.
3. “Bambi: The Reckoning” (R) Trailer (Limited)
A horror thriller from the demented minds behind “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey”. They’re calling this the fourth movie in the so-called Poohniverse.
So what was the other movie in the Poohniverse, you ask? In addition to the TWO Pooh movies, there was also “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare” which came out back in February of this year.
Anyway, this one turns the story of Bambi on its head so that he’s now a mutated deer who goes on a deadly rampage seeking revenge for the death of its mother.
