This New Gen Z Phone Habit Might Make Your Life Better

If there’s one Gen Z habit the rest of us should steal, it’s this:  Using Do Not Disturb mode on our phones all day, every day.

More and more young people are using their phone’s Do Not Disturb mode not just at night, but during the day, too.  It’s a way to set digital boundaries that goes beyond setting your phone to “vibrate” or “silent.”

Videos on TikTok tagged “DND” and “DND 24/7” are going viral with Gen Z sharing how peaceful and productive they’ve felt since changing their notification settings.

Experts say it can help with sleep, improve work performance, reduce anxiety, and make you feel less overwhelmed.

It’s pretty simple to do.  If you have an iPhone, go to Settings, Focus, Do Not Disturb.  And for Android users, swipe down from the Home screen to the Notification Center, then swipe to expand the panel and tap Do Not Disturb.
