Just a few weeks ago, the entire internet was concerned for “Punch the Monkey” at a zoo in Japan. He’d been abandoned by his mother, dragged around his stuffed animal orangutan, and was even “bullied.”
Well, he has made a TON of progress. The latest updates say he now has a GIRLFRIEND. (Things are moving so fast! Soon he’ll be driving, looking at colleges, and having his own children to abandon.) (???)
Punch has been spotted kissing, cuddling, and affectionately playing with a female monkey believed to be named “Momo-chan.” It’s cute.
Of course, Punch still has his stuffed animal, but he clearly appears less lonesome than he seemed last month.
The internet is generally happy for Punch. (Although there are surely some soap opera storylines to come, debating whether Momo-chan is really into Punch for who he is on the inside, or if she’s just chasing fame.) (???)
