There’s a Viral Video of a Carnival Cruise Ruining a Couple’s Proposal

For every MAGICAL engagement video, there are others that don’t go exactly as planned. Sometimes, the moment is not captured clearly, other times, the camera is not the problem.

There’s a video going viral, showing how a Carnival cruise ruined a couple’s proposal.  It happened back in 2017, but the woman, Amanda Bratton, recently posted it online.

It was an honest mistake.  Amanda’s now-husband Gary had arranged for the staff to deliver the ring to him “at the start of a romantic dinner.”  He would then propose, and the servers would come over with a cake and sing a song to celebrate.

But the cake and the song arrived BEFORE the proposal, so they were congratulating Amanda and Gary on the engagement, and Amanda was saying, “I’m not engaged.”

Gary also looked confused and annoyed at first, but then he smiled and went with it.  The ring was brought over in a bag, and Gary pulled it out, got down on one knee, and proposed.  Amanda said yes, obviously.

People in the comments say Carnival owes them a free cruise, but the staff probably just got excited and jumped the gun.  Gary also seems like a great guy for how smoothly he pivoted, and still made the moment special.

That time @carnival celebrated our engagement before he proposed! Ah, good times! Best story all these years later!
