Is It Not Cool to Ask Male Guests to Wear Ties at a Wedding?

We’ve seen plenty of stories of people going CRAZY with wedding demands, “Bridezillas,” crazy in-laws, and couples asking way too much of their guests. (Sometimes without booze to make up for it.)

A bride is going viral for sharing a story about how her aunt and uncle decided NOT to attend their wedding, just because the men were all asked to wear a tie.  Which doesn’t seem outrageous, even these days.

She shared a text, where the aunt said, “We will not be there sorry.  Way too much.”  The bride responded with a link, and said, “I found this for $6.99 online. Will you really not come because of a tie?”

And the aunt said, “That’s right.  This is the United States of America.  Not Princess-land.”  (Yikes.  Something tells me this bride dodged a bullet.)

The woman also said that her father already lent her uncle a tie.  So this was probably more of a “looking for an excuse” situation than an actual “bridge too far” for their finances.
