Some High Schoolers Got the Wienermobile to Give Them a Ride to Prom

One tradition for high school proms dating back forever is:  Making a grand entrance.  And it’s hard to imagine anything new that hasn’t been done before, but THIS might actually be it.

One of the six Oscar-Mayer Wienermobiles was in Topeka, Kansas this past weekend for a NASCAR pre‑race celebration.

Some students from the local Seaman High School spotted it while they were at Sonic, and decided to stop for photos.  Then, things got interesting.

Their prom was coming up the next day, so one of them got the idea to ask if they could rent the Wienermobile to make their entrance.

They were expecting a NO, but the driver, Maggie Dawson, who’s a “brand ambassador,” checked her schedule, and said YES, she’d give them a ride.

She did have to check with her bosses at Oscar-Mayer, and they agreed to do it for FREE.  (Along with press they’re surely getting from it, like us talking about it.)

Maggie said, “It’s such a special thing for me, being the steward that gets to bring them there.  So I can’t even imagine what kind of happiness it’s going to bring.”

(Here’s a local news report on it.  There’s more fun video, here.)
