“Captain America: Civil War” is Out This Weekend, check out the trailer:
The underlying theme of this one is accountability for all the loss of life in the previous Marvel movies. The team is split after the government pushes for the Avengers to give up their autonomy and submit to the jurisdiction of the United Nations.
Captain America hates the idea and wants to hold onto their right to choose who they help. Then when the Winter Soldier is framed for a terrorist bombing, Cap defies the U.N. and fights to save his old friend from being executed for a crime he didn’t commit.
“Civil War” introduces the Black Panther as a guy with vendetta against the Winter Soldier.
And Stan Lee makes his cameo as a FedEx driver in this one. If you’ve seen the second trailer, you know Spider-Man gets in on the action too. But Hulk and Thor are noticeably absent from both trailers so they probably aren’t in it.
Iron Man ends up recruiting Spider-Man for his government-sanctioned team.
And Cap recruits Ant-Man for his team of outlaw superheroes.
Here’s how the team’s alliances are split . . .
1. Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, and Ant Man side with Captain America.
2. Black Widow, War Machine, Vision, and Spider-Man stick with Iron Man.
3. And Black Panther is more of an outsider who just wants to take down Winter Soldier. He’s played by Chadwick Boseman and his stand-alone movie, which is simply titled “Black Panther”, won’t be out until February of 2018.
Your new Spider-Man is played by a guy named Tom Holland. His stand-alone movie, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” should be out in July of next year, but it hasn’t been added to the official Marvel calendar because Spidey is still licensed to Sony.
