Kacey Musgraves wants to keep us all guessing these days. She has a boyfriend, but doesn’t say much about him, and she’s slowly leaking details about new music. We’ll get to the boyfriend in a second.
On Saturday she shared 15 short Instagram posts. The first one features an acoustic guitar, with her singing, “Let me set the scene.” The other 14 have no music, just lyrics to what is probably that song. And it seems to be about her divorce. For example, two lovers ripped at the seams / they woke up from the perfect dream / and then the darkness came / I signed the papers yesterday / you came and took your things away / moved out of the home we made / and gave you back your name.”
We’re hearing that the song is called “Star-Crossed”, it features Carlos Santana, and it’s the title track of her new album, which MIGHT be out September 24th.
Saturday was also her 33rd birthday, and her boyfriend Cole Schafer posted photos of them being very much a couple. His caption reads like a love poem and it ends with, “It’s been so damn pretty falling for you, Kacey.”
She commented with a heart emoji and this: “Sweet angel boo. Life is so much prettier with you in it.”
