Think back to high school: Did you ever cheat? On schoolwork, that is, not your boyfriend or girlfriend. (???)
More than 10,000 adults were asked recently, and 59% claim they NEVER cheated on homework or tests in high school.
28% admit to cheating “occasionally”, and only 4% admit they did it “frequently.” 6% say they aren’t sure, and 3% “prefer not to say.” Younger men were the group most likely to admit to cheating in school.
This was probably inspired by all the talk of students today cheating with smartphones, A.I., and other technology.
That said, 54% of adults say they would NOT cheat on homework or tests if they were in school now. 21% say they might a little, and only 5% say they would do it frequently.
Only 4% of adults think “all” students are cheating right now, but 23% say “most of them” are, 22% say “about half of them” are, and 32% say “some of them” are. Only 3% of adults believe NONE of them are.
