There are foods that are so divisive that you either LOVE or HATE them. Guinness is one of those things, ice cream is NOT. So I wonder how this will go.
Guinness has teamed up with Van Leeuwen ice cream to create a Guinness-flavored ice cream with chocolate chunks. It’s a limited-edition flavor, so if you’re interested, you should try to get it now.
It’s available at select Van Leeuwen scoop shops, and online through their website for $12, while supplies last. The pints are called “Lovely Day for a Guinness,” which was inspired by the old Guinness ads from the 1950s.
If you’re able to score one, you should try dropping a scoop into a tall glass, then pouring cold Guinness on top to create a beer and ice cream float.
(To be clear, the ice cream is NOT alcoholic, so it’s fine for kids, although it’s probably safe to assume that NO ONE is going to jump through hoops to get this, just so their 10-year-old can scarf it down.)
