Production Halted After Crew Member Killed In Accident On The Set Of STARZ Series “Power”

A crew member on the hit STARZ series Power was killed Monday morning, shutting down production on Season 6 of the drama. Longtime production assistant Pedro Jimenez was fatally struck by an SUV at about 4:30 a.m. EST while setting up parking cones for a Brooklyn location shoot. STARZ confirmed the news with a statement. Jimenez, who was with the series since its first day of production, was 63 years old. The series has temporarily shut down production out of respect for Jimenez’s family, who was informed of his passing almost immediately.

Box office history is in the making as Disney Animation’s Ralph Breaks the Internet and Universal-Illumination’s The Grinch are being projected to win the top two slots in U.S. theaters this weekend. It was the first time that two animated films had been at the top of the heap since June 2012, when Disney-Pixar’s Brave took the top spot at the box office, and Dreamworks Madagascar 3 took second place.
