The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) said in a press release that Garth Brooks will receive the ‘Kris Kristofferson Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the 5th annual Nashville Songwriter Awards show in September. The Nashville Songwriter Awards celebrate songs and songwriters, with many recipients determined by the community of peer professional writers honoring their most-admired songs from the past year.

Ashley McBryde is taking some time off the road, posting a statement on her Facebook page from “Team Ashley” regarding McBryde’s absence from recent shows, appearances and social media.

Sam Hunt has released his new single, “Water Under the Bridge.” Hunt co-wrote “Water Under the Bridge” with Chris LaCorte, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne, which is the follow-up to Hunt’s recent chart-topper “23,” which he also wrote with LaCorte, McAnally, and Osborne. “23” is Hunt’s eighth No. 1 hit.  You can download the song at your streaming service of choice.

Carly Pearce will return for a second year to host the 15th Annual Academy of Country Music Honors on Aug. 24 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.  Said Pearce: “ACM Honors is one of my most favorite events of the year. It is a privilege to once again host this special night and celebrate those who are making a profound impact on country music.”
