Wade Bowen had one of the best albums of 2018 with his release Solid Ground.  However, two months after the album’s February 2018 release, Wade was placed on mandatory vocal rest after being diagnosed with recurrent bleeding in his vocal cords, having surgery in May 2018 to treat the condition, followed by another month of vocal rest and speech therapy. On top of this, Wade’s nephew and crew member, Chase Cavender, died by suicide while the band was on tour in June 2018.

Randy Houser and wife Tatiana announced via Instagram that they have welcomed their son, Huckleberry “Huck” Randolph Houser. Huck was born on June 9, weighing 7 lbs., 6 oz.

Kelsea Ballerini has reached the top of the country charts, scoring her fifth number one single with “Miss Me More.”  This makes Kelsea the first female artist in 15 months to reach the coveted slot, when Kelsea herself hit the top of the charts when “Legends” went to No. 1 in February 2018. 

Thomas Rhett scored his second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 as Center Point Road debuted at the top of the charts. Center Point Road was released on May 31 and marks the first country album to hit No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart in 2019.

After Garth Brooks’ August 10 concert at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada sold out in an amazing 59-minutes, Brooks has added an additional show in Regina on August 9.
