A Guy Uses a James Bond Smokescreen to Escape the Cops, But They Follow the Trail of Smoke

Believe it or not, the crazy spy technology from James Bond movies DOESN’T work in real life.  Especially if you try to make it yourself.  62-year-old Simon Chaplin of Hebron, England rigged up a device to create a SMOKESCREEN if he ever needed to make a quick escape.  It involves pipes, pumps, and a bucket of diesel fuel in his car.

And he actually used it last month when a cop tried to pull him over for speeding.  Simon activated his smokescreen, it filled the road up with a thick layer of smoke, and he sped away.

Except there was one problem.  His car KEPT pumping out smoke, which left a nice trail for the cop to follow once the first big smokescreen cleared.  And five miles later, the cop caught up with him.

Simon was in court this week and got 100 hours of community service.

(Here’s photos of him, and his car letting out smoke when the cops tested it.)
