You can’t believe everything you see online, and ESPECIALLY not on TikTok: A woman from Florida named Olivia Garcia is going viral after she made her family do a big detour during a road trip through North Carolina recently.
She saw a TikTok video that supposedly showed some amazing mountains in a Charlotte suburb called Gastonia. So they drove an hour out of their way to check it out. But when they got there, it was just a normal town with gas stations, strip malls, and NO mountains. So what happened?
It turns out the video she saw was by a guy who likes posting FAKE location videos and calls them “NOT Carolina” videos. The one Olivia saw said he was in Gastonia, but the footage was actually shot while driving through the SWISS ALPS. She says her family ragged on her for not googling it before they went.
