Have you ever been in this situation and couldn’t come up with a word? It doesn’t happen to people who’ve been in the military . . .
A woman in Atlanta shared a voicemail she got from her dermatologist, because the lady who left the message cracked up in the middle of it.
She called to tell her they did a culture and found a bacteria called “Pantoea.” (pan-TOE-uh) It can cause skin infections, but it’s usually not a big deal.
The reason the lady laughed was she tried to spell it over the phone, and had to come up with different words to clarify each letter.
In the military, those words are things like “Alpha,” “Bravo,” “Charlie.” But she was spelling it on the fly, went with, “P, as in PORK”, and got the giggles.
Once she started laughing, she couldn’t stop. It didn’t help that a coworker was laughing at her in the background. For the record, the official word for the letter “P” is “Papa.”
(Here’s the voicemail.)
