They say if you don’t succeed, try again, but that usually doesn’t apply to stealing septic tanks.
A man in Florida was arrested after making TWO attempts to steal a septic tank from a construction site last month, and both were caught on video.
The first time, he tried to somehow haul it away with a Toyota Corolla. But that wasn’t happening. And he even got chased away by someone in a Jeep.
But the man was persistent, and came back with a U-Haul truck. He DID manage to get away with the septic tank that time. But not for long.
Detectives were able to identify him, and tracked him down. The thief was charged with grand theft, unlawful use of a two-way device, and intentionally obscuring a license plate during the commission of a crime.
(You can find the surveillance footage, here. It’s a shame that he was chased away the first time. I would’ve loved to have seen how he was going to haul that tank away on his car.)
