Thomas Rhett Will Team Up With Crown Royal To Benefit U.S. Military

Thomas Rhett is joining forced with Crown Royal for the Purple Bag Project. The project benefits U.S. servicemen and women stationed overseas. Rhett said, “it’s really cool to be a part of that; it’s just a really cool partnering because I feel like our goals and values align as far as the charitable component. My wife and I take pride in that being a big way that we live our lives.” Since 2010, Crown Royal has worked with Packages From Home as a national charity partner supporting their purpose of sending thanks to troops overseas. During Purple Bag events, participants are invited to write notes and help stuff care packages (in a purple Crown Royal bag) for troops. Rhett’s Purple Bag event will take place on Nov. 13 at Bridgestone Arena Plaza, just ahead of the CMA Awards on Nov. 14.

Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Garth Brooks, Brett Young & More Announced As Performers At 2018 CMA Awards

The Country Music Association announced additional performers added to their 52nd annual CMA Awards show. Superstars such as Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Garth Brooks, Luke Combs, Midland, and Brett Young are among the new lineup. it was announced previously that other performers will include Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Dan + Shay, Old Dominion, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley with Brothers Osborne, Florida Georgia Line with Bebe Rexha, Kacey Musgraves, Pistol Annies, and Thomas Rhett. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the CMA Awards for the 11th consecutive year, which will air live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. CT on ABC. Blake Shelton Announces “Friends & Heroes 2019 Tour” With Support From Lauren Alaina, Trace Adkins & More

Blake Shelton announced he will embark on a new tour in 2019, called his “Friends & Heroes 2019 Tour’.” For support, he’s taking some of his friends and heroes along, including the Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson, Trace Adkins and Lauren Alaina. Blake announced the tour will kick off Feb. 14 in his home state of Oklahoma. The 18-date tour will make additional stops in Indianapolis, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Tampa and more. You can gain access to the pre-sale begining on Nov. 2, by signing up for Blake’s Team BS fan club by 11:59 p.m. CT on Nov. 1. Brett Young Will Be Honored With 2018 ASCAP Songwriter/Artist Of The Year Award

Brett Young has been named the 2018 ASCAP Country Songwriter/Artist of the Year. The award is earned by the songwriter who has written and recorded at least two songs that have amassed the greatest airplay during a predetermined time period. Brett has co-written four of his consecutive No. 1 hits—including “In Case You Didn’t Know,” and “Like I Loved You.”  Young follows in the footsteps of singer/songwriters like Alan Jackson, Sam Hunt and Matthew Ramsey of Old Dominion, who all previously received this honor. Young will be recognized at the 56th annual ASCAP Country Music Awards on Nov. 12 in Nashville.

Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame Inducts Five New Members

Songwriters K.T. Oslin, Ronnie Dunn, Byron Hill, Joe Melson and Wayne Kirkpatrick were inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Sunday, Oct. 28 at Music City Center. Many famous acts performed their classic hits — Runaway June performed “Do Ya,” Oslin’s 1987 chart topper, Jon Pardi performed Dunn’s “Neon Moon,” Shawn Camp delivered Hill’s “Born Country,” Jesse Labelle did his take on Melson’s “Crying,” Gabe Dixon gave a moving performance of Kirkpatrick’s “Change the World,” and Little Big Town rocked the crowd with “Boondocks.”  In addition, during the ceremony Reba McEntire came to the stage to accept a newly instituted Career Make Award, which will be given to performers who have recorded a wide range of the Hall of Fame members’ songs.
