Lauren Alaina Cancels Performance Due To Family Medical Emergency

Lauren Alaina had to cancel a planned concert appearance in Rochester, N.Y., after a family emergency came up. The singer was supposed to perform Wednesday night, 8/29. Alaina turned to her own social media to apologize for the cancellation, writing, “I’m really sorry I can’t be there. Love you guys.”  While she has not shared any further information as to the nature of her family medical emergency, on June 30 Alaina revealed that her stepfather, Sam Ramker, is battling Stage 4 cancer. An update from Alaina’s mother, Kristy, on Ramker’s GoFundMe page offered more information on Tuesday: “Update on Sam! He is currently in ICU due to a infection in his lungs. Today they are going to be draining the fluid. Please keep us in your prayers. Treatment is going well. We just hit a speed bump in the road. Treatment will continue this week as planned. Thanks everyone for all the prayers and donations. Our family is so grateful.”

Cole Swindell’s Album, “All of It,” Tops Billboard Country Chart

Cole Swindell’s third album, All of It, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. According to Nielsen Music, Swindell’s new album moved 50,000 equivalent units, which also put him at No.7 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. Said Cole: “With the best songs and the best fans how could I not be grateful for this number one album. Thank you!” All of It marks Cole’s first time at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. His two previous albums charted in the No. 2 spot: Cole Swindell (2014) and You Should Be Here (2016).

Jason Aldean’s ‘Drowns The Whiskey,’ Featuring Miranda Lambert, Tops Country Airplay

Jason Aldean’s “Drowns the Whiskey,” featuring Miranda Lambert has risen to No. 1 in it’s 15th week on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart. The song mark’s Aldean’s 21st No. 1 single, tying him for ninth place with Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan and Brad Paisley. Kenny Chesney leads with 30 No. 1s. “Whiskey” is the second single from Aldean’s album Rearview Town, which debuted atop the all-genre Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts. Aldean’s first single, “You Make It Easy,” led Country Airplay for two weeks beginning May 5. Meanwhile Lambert lands her fifth Country Airplay No. 1 among 12 top 10s and 30 chart appearances. She last led on Dec. 7, 2013, with her Keith Urban duet “We Were Us.”

2018 CMA Awards Nominations Include Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban & More

The 2018 CMA Awards nominees were announced today, Aug. 28. Luke Bryan, Dan + Shay and Sugarland announced many of the nominations on Good Morning America live from Luke’s new Nashville restaurant, 32 Bridge Food + Drink. Chris Stapleton leads the pack, earning a total of seven nominations including Album, Male Vocalist, Song, Single and Entertainer of the Year. Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett and Keith Urban each earned four nominations. Dan + Shay and Sugarland were among the nominees for Vocal Duo of the Year, with Dan + Shay scoring four total nominations, while Bryan will vie for Entertainer of the Year against Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Stapleton and Urban.The CMA Awards will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Nov. 14 on ABC.

Garth Brooks Gave Away Downloads For His New ‘Triple Live’ Album

Garth Brooks’ Triple Live album became available for free on Monday night (Aug. 27) — but only if fans followed the correct steps. The new three-disc project was recorded during his most recent world tour with Trisha Yearwood. Brooks made the announcement on his weekly Facebook livestream ‘Inside Studio G’, revealing a special code. Fans were able to download the album on Ticketmaster onto a desktop or laptop computer only.  This announcement was made during a press conference to announce the details of Brooks’ upcoming show at Notre Dame. Tickets for that Oct. 20 show will go on sale through Ticketmaster on Sept. 14 at 10AM.  Brooks’ current single out now is called “All Day Long.”
