Thomas Rhett shows what life is like on the road in his new video for “Life Changes.” Filmed by director Shaun Silva over a series of shows in May, the video highlights intimate family moments behind the scenes on the road with Rhett and his girls, wife Lauren Akins and their daughters Willa Gray and Ada James. Rhett says in a press release “Having the girls out on tour has changed what being on the road looks like for me. It just seems to keep getting more and more fun. And, I think the fans might even cheer louder for them than me!” Rhett will be on the road this summer for more shows on his Life Changes tour and Kenny Chesney’s Trip Around the Sun Tour. Rhett’s next stadium date with Chesney is July 14 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.
Josh Abbott — frontman and namesake of the Josh Abbott Band — married Taylor Parnell at the Brazos Hall in Austin, Texas, Sunday, July 8. The pair included their 14-month-old daughter, Emery Farryn, who played the part of flower girl and made it into a memorable shot of her newly-married parents walking down the aisle as man and wife. “She is a huge part of our life, so it was only fitting to have her about on the big day,” Abbott said of his daughter’s role. Abbott selected his bandmates Austin Davis and Preston Wait as groomsmen, as well as his brother, Chance, who did double-duty by officiating the ceremony. The couple will be be traveling to Mexico’s Cabo San Lucas for their honeymoon.
Jason Aldean’s son Memphis is going to be a big brother! On July 10th, the country star and his wife, Brittany, announced on Instagram that they are expecting their second child together, posting a photo of their 7-month-old son. In the picture, Memphis is lounging in a onesie that reads: Big Brother. Aldean has two older daughters, Keeley and Kendyl, from his first marriage, and he made no secret of the fact that he and Brittany planned to have another child as soon as possible after he and Brittany welcomed Memphis on Dec. 1, 2017. The couple turned to Instagram when they revealed they were expecting their first child together in May of 2017, subsequently announcing the baby was a boy just a few weeks later. They also shared pictures of his nursery online, and they have chronicled his childhood extensively via social media.
Garth Brooks announced he will perform at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind. It will be the first time a full, stand-alone concert has ever been scheduled at the storied college football mecca. Brooks announced the concert at a press conference at WME in Nashville Monday, July 9, which opened with a speech from sports treasure Lou Holtz, who made his mark coaching at the University of Notre Dame, among other franchises throughout his tenure. “It’s never been done before, and it’s our understanding that Garth loves to do things that haven’t been done before,” said Notre Dame’s associate vice president for event management, Lee Sicinski. Brooks is coming off of a three 1/2-year world tour with his wife and fellow country singer, Trisha Yearwood.
